Many practitioners who offer injectables such as “Botox” and “Fillers” also see patients who are troubled by facial spider veins. Doctors and nurses may not be aware that there is a cost-effective solution that does not require purchasing expensive lasers or IPL machines.
This course addresses the needs of aesthetic practitioners, dermatologists, plastic surgeons and vascular specialists who want to help their patients and who want to quickly and easily add an extra revenue stream to their practice.
If you are a doctor, nurse or aesthetic practitioner treating cosmetic conditions of the face, adding facial spider veins to the list of conditions you treat is a “no brainer”.
I am sure you already see patients and clients who have spider veins on the face. If you can’t treat these, you may be “leaving money on the table”.
If you are treating facial conditions anyway, you don’t even need to market your services if you can treat facial spider veins.
If you are a doctor, nurse or aesthetic practitioner who already treats leg spider veins by Microsclerotherapy, inevitably, a proportion of those patients will ask you about their facial veins.
Short Wave Diathermy is safe, effective and the results are rapid. Some of the happiest patients you will ever treat will be those whose facial veins have been eliminated.
Rapid Return on Your Investment (ROI)
Unlike lasers or IPL, the capital cost is low: less than £900. The consumables are less than £10 per treatment session. And what's more, the average fee per treatment session is £250, though some clinics charge a lot more and some clinics even charge more than £100 for an initial consultation.
The thermal treatment of facial spider veins is surrounded by many technical terms which can cause a lot of confusion. When heat is delivered to a facial spider vein via a needle with the intention to cause a controlled injury which ultimately leads to the vein being absorbed, various terms are used.
Sometimes it is called ohmic thermolysis, or thermocoagulation, or electrocoagulation or radiofrequency or Short Wave Diathermy. This suggests that these are distinct entities and modalities of treatment. I am not convinced and I will explain why in this course.
Many claims are made for one particular frequency of alternating current or one particular machine to deliver this energy. I have looked at the medical literature and based on my findings, I can recommend a machine and a method of thermal injury that has worked for me for nearly 15 years. I have treated over 100 patients and I use a method which is supported by evidence in the medical literature.
In this course, I share my personal experience of treating patients and training others how to treat facial spider veins on the cheeks, chin and nose by Short Wave Diathermy, which is my preferred term.
The method described in this course is easy to learn and to apply to your practice. I have even personally trained a healthcare assistant in my own clinic to provide this treatment under supervision IN JUST 4 HOURS. That way, I could delegate the procedure and see other patients.
This course is an easy to follow, step-by-step, how-to-do-it instructional guide. It’s an operational manual.
Why Should I Add Facial Vein Treatment to Your Practice?
Many people are troubled by the unsightly appearance of “spider veins” and “broken veins” on their face. Yet most cannot access safe treatment: they either do not know who to ask, or they may be unaware that treatment options even exist.
In the age of the internet and “Doctor Google” demand for the treatment of facial veins is increasing and as this is outside the scope of the NHS, opportunities exist for suitably trained and competent practitioners to incorporate Short Wave Diathermy into their private practice.
If there is a barrier to entry, it’s that you need to know what you are doing. You need to have a solid knowledge base and you need to be trained in the practical aspects by an expert.
CPD Certificate
After a short quiz, you will receive a CPD/CME certificate (4 hours).
Doctors, nurses, healthcare professionals and aestheticians who have no experience of diathermy will find this to be a solid foundation on which to build.
